Best Things to do in Gravenhurst
Planning a day in Ghurst? Here’s how to live your best life.
Relish Kitchen & Market
The itinerary ahead is packed (my FOMO is real) so I would start with a little nourishment. Relish has bowls, soup, appetizers, but with this early start you can grab a little breakfast muffin and nice little drink, my business partner’s go to is an iced coffee and I would be wanting a chai latte for the road. Want to pack something for later? The peanut butter oat bar is sooo delicious and is a “don’t mind if I do” almost every time we go.
Hardy Lake Trail
The Hardy Lake trails are great and located just outside of Gravenhurst towards Bala. Hardy Lake boasts a lake (obviously), a couple of bridges, and lots of trees, basically all the instragram-able requirements and it can be a choose your own adventure in terms of how long you want to hike. Parking can be limited so plan accordingly.
Floathaus
Obviously Floathaus is our baby, but the reviews for the floating sauna are fire rain or shine. What will you experience? A quick check in, change into your swimwear and the coolest and coziest of surf robes, then it is off to warm up in a spacious floating sauna, cool off in the plunge (this is a full on ice plunge in the winter) and then lounge on the dock hammock (picture catamaran netting floating above the water). You can also pop inside at any time for the best of the best bean bag chairs, a little shopping, and a tea. Then repeat, repeat, repeat!
Blue Willow Tea Shop (& Muskoka Steamships)
Now that you worked up an appetite and you feel like the healthiest person alive, it’s time for some pampering and decadence and there is no treat quite like high tea. Our friends at the Blue Willow will three tier the socks off you and top off your teapot just when you need it. You can also have high tea on the high seas (or rather steamship lake cruise) by booking the Wenonah II High Tea Cruise for a scenic cruise trip that includes the Blue Willow High Tea.
These are just a few things to do but I could go on and on, shopping at The Shipyards (Wharf) or Handmade House (downtown), golfing at Taboo or Muskoka Bay Resort, Sawdust City Brewing Co. for a drink or pub quiz night, Gull Lake summer concerts, quickly the best day turns into options for the best weekend or weeklong stay.
Note: In a seasonal town, offerings are subject to change. Be sure to look into hours and offerings with each business and location specifically to find the most current information.
